Woodlands

Approximately half of Rauscher Farm’s 62 acres are woodlands. These wooded areas are managed to provide public access on marked trails and also to maintain areas primarily as plant and wildlife habitat. This is In keeping with recommended practices to preserve large areas for wildlife that are not segmented by trails while also promoting public use for hiking and enjoying nature.

Because Rauscher farm connects directly with the much larger forest habitat managed by the the Department of Conservation and Recreation, Rauscher Farm’s woodlands support a surprising diversity wildlife, trees, and plants.
