Brush piles serve an important role in both Rauscher Farm maintenance and wildlife conservation.
Rauscher Farm volunteers cut back brush, and clear fallen trees and branches throughout the year to keep trails and fields clear and remove potential hazards. The resulting brush piles provide refuge for birds and other wildlife and offer smaller creatures protection from weather and predators.
