Ripples of Clamshell Pond:
A new pond-based discovery program launching this year! One of the first projects will be identifying and documenting small (harmless) fresh water jelly that some folks have seen in the past.
Also on Clamshell Pond this summer you’ll see evidence of a Purple Loosestrife containment project, a partnership of the Clinton Conservation Commission and the Nashua River Watershed Association.
Bird ‘n Butterfly-thon.
Many animals, birds, and butterflies – permanent and migratory residents – call Rauscher Farm home. To discover more about these residents. Seeking volunteers to help with a Bird ‘n Buterfly-a-thon. Information gathered from the “Thon” will be integrated into the Rauscher Farm Land Management Plan. Volunteers are invited to visit Rauscher Farm on their own schedules to complete sighting checklists and drop them off in the box on the side of the barn (near the silo).
Since the fields will be mowed in late August, until then, we ask that you kindly keep to the edge of the fields. Be sure to bring your binoculars and field guidebooks, dress appropriately, and take the usual tick precautions! Bird and butterfly volunteer checklists are available using the Adobe Acrobat link below, at the farm, and at the Clinton Town Hall and The Bigelow Free Public Library.
